EXCHANGE

The exchange program of AIESEC is the most significant moment in the experience of AIESEC members, which connects all the organization’s global network. Each year, over 5 500 of our members have the opportunity to live and work abroad in the field of management, technology, education and social activities.

Types of internships:

o Management Trainership (MT) – experience related to administration, finance, accounting, marketing, project management, human resources and international relations.

o Development Trainership (DT) – experience related to NGOs, which aims to develop the society, socially oriented.

o Technical Trainership (TT) - experience related to web design, software, networks and databases, as well as computer engineering.

o Education Trainership (ET) - experience relating to promotion, development of curricula, teaching and counseling in education sector.

Stages of the AIESEC internship program:

1. Selection and application form – after a look at your application form, you will pass through the process of evaluating your experience and motivation to conduct the experience abroad. This is a process that includes interview and language test. This process aims to verify whether each applicant for the AIESEC experience is suitable and whether they can live a valuable experiences during the exchange program. Consists of at least two stages: 1) a language test to demonstrate the level of proficiency in a foreign language and  2) Assessors team to conduct interviews and assess your skills to become part of the exchange program.

2. Preparation - a step that needs to happen before you undertake your exchange experience and find the right internship. Directly involves:

- Logistical preparation in order to be physically and legally prepared to work in another country / documents, visas, etc /;

- Training on international affairs and how to deal with the stress to live in another country and culture;

- Training that gives you knowledge of the exchange program of AIESEC and the roles and responsibilities of various parties.

Preparation is an important moment because we need to know that you are best prepared for living and working abroad. We want to make sure that this is the stage when people involved in the exchange program, understand their responsibilities and their role towards Implementation of the AIESEC vision.

3. Process of finding the internship - reaching this stage, you will have been selected and have become a member of AIESEC. Now you have the opportunity to find a suitable internship for you. You will be given access to our online training courses and taught how to use it in the most useful way for you.

4. Integration – AIESEC will provide further information about what to expect during your internship and how it can be integrated after returning back home. Members of AIESEC in the country where you conduct your internship, will provide you with the necessary support and assistance for housing and everyday life, featuring cultural and social activities during your leisure time.

5. Reintegration – AIESEC helps you with your reintegration after returning from your professional experience.

Details and logistics issues:

- Length of internship – from 6 weeks to 18 months;

- Guaranteed salary – about average for the country in which you want to go;

- The process of finding the experience – 2 to 7 months;

- Pay an administrative fee to AIESEC in the amount of 200 euros.

AIESEC takes care of the intern during the whole duration of the process of finding and realizing a successful internship, contributing to intern’s personal and professional development.
